This page describes, factually, what this site does with visitor data as of the date above. It is written to meet articles 13 and 14 of the GDPR. It is not a substitute for legal advice.

Reading the site

You can read every page here without giving us anything and without accepting anything. Nothing on this site is behind a form.

Every headline here links to the article on the publisher's own site. Following one takes you off NyuzAI entirely: from that point the publisher's site is the one collecting whatever it collects, under its own policy, and this page no longer applies.

To keep the subscription form from being abused, the server briefly holds the IP address a request came from, in memory only, to count how many requests it made. It is never written to a file, never stored in the database, and disappears within minutes. Our host keeps its own connection logs, as any host does, under its own policy.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the site usable and its forms free of abuse. It is the narrowest processing we could do for that: a count, held for minutes, tied to nothing else about you.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand traffic and usage: which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from, how many people visit, and which outbound links are followed. That last point matters here, since every headline is an outbound link, so it amounts to knowing which articles are opened. The tracking script only loads if you accept, in the dialog shown on your first visit; if you decline, no analytics script ever loads and no analytics cookie is set. Either answer is remembered in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie, and you can change it at any time from the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.

Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any moment from that same link. Withdrawing does not affect the period during which it was given. Processor: Google, which processes this data on our behalf and under its own terms.

Email subscription

If you subscribe to email updates, we collect one thing: your email address. It is stored and processed by Buttondown, our email provider, solely to send you new editions. Subscription is confirmed by a double opt-in, so an address cannot be added without the holder clicking a link. Every email carries an unsubscribe link.

Legal basis: your consent. We never sell, rent or share the list, and we do not use it to profile you: everyone receives the same edition.

Where the data goes

The website runs on a server located in Berlin, Germany. Some of our providers are established in the United States, so data described above may be transferred there. Those transfers take place under the safeguards required by chapter V of the GDPR, which means the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, depending on the provider.

We use no other processor than those named on this page and on the legal notice.

How long we keep it

• Analytics: 14 months at most, after which Google deletes it. Your consent choice stays in your browser until you clear it or change it.
• Email address: until you unsubscribe. Unsubscribing removes it from the list.
• Request data used for rate limiting: a few minutes, in memory.

Automated decisions and AI

No summary on this site is written by a machine. Each one is the description its publisher distributes in its own feed.

Automation is used to choose which articles appear: each article is compared, by computed similarity, against a written description of a subject. That comparison is given the article and nothing else. It never receives your email address, your IP address, your reading history or any other information about you. No decision producing legal effects concerning you is taken automatically, and we do not profile visitors.

Your rights

You may ask us at any time to give you access to your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, or hand it to you in a portable format. Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

Write to [email protected]. We answer within one month. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may lodge a complaint with the CNIL, 3 Place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, or at cnil.fr.

If this changes

We do not sell or share visitor or subscriber data for advertising, and we run no tracking beyond what is described above. If that ever changes, a new analytics tool, an ad partner, anything that processes visitor data, this page is updated before the change takes effect and the date at the top moves with it.
